Spray tanning regulations differ from state to state. For most states, spray tanning is unregulated. This means anyone can pick up a spray tan gun without the proper training and education, scary! And you wonder where spray tanning gets an “orange” rep from. As of 2023, Oregon and Ohio were the only states that required additional licensing. You will want to contact your state board of cosmetology to check your state’s regulations.
