1. Shower, shave, and exfoliate 8–24 hours before your appointment using a gel-based body wash. NO Dove, Olay, or bar soaps. (Showering or shaving too close to your appointment can interfere with how your skin absorbs the solution.)
RECOMMENDED OPTIONS: Cetaphil, Aveeno (fragrance-free), Hempz, Method, Alevia, or Raw Sugar body washes.
If you don’t already own an exfoliating mitt, I strongly recommend getting one. It’s a one-time essential purchase — not only for proper prep, but also for removing your tan later when it reaches that patchy phase. Mitts are available for local pickup or online purchase.
2. Complete waxing, massages, and nail appointments at least 48 hours prior. This allows time for oils and products to fully wash off the skin!
Avoid retinol products the week leading up to your tan.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Begin hydrating your skin daily with lotion the week leading up to your tan appointment.
3. Arrive with completely clean skin. This includes no lotions, deodorant, makeup, oils, perfumes, or jewelry.
4. SUNBURN POLICY: If you arrive with a fresh sunburn, I will unfortunately need to reschedule your appointment. I do not spray tan over sunburned skin — this is non-negotiable.
You must wait at least 4 weeks after a peeling burn before receiving a spray tan. Spraying too soon will result in a very uneven, splotchy outcome.
